Chrissy has worked in Early Childhood Education for over 25 years. Her career began at the Community Program Centers of Long Island, Inc. in 1997 as a Preschool Teacher. As her experience grew, she progressively took on more responsibility. In 2003 Chrissy joined The Children’s Community Head Start as the Education and Disabilities Manager/Site Supervisor for the Ronkonkoma Center with responsibility for supervising and mentoring teaching staff, curriculum implementation, maintaining collaborative relationships with several local school districts and ensuring children are screened as required. Chrissy was promoted to Assistant Director/Education Manager in 2014, where she was committed to ensuring that staff, children and families reach their full potential. Most recently, Chrissy has been appointed to the position of Head Start Birth-to-Five Program Director. She believes that children need to be socially, academically, and emotionally prepared for school and success in life, and that the success of the family is directly related to the success of the child. Her new role gives her the opportunity to become more involved in the community, address ongoing community issues, and work together for the common goals of our families. Chrissy holds a M.S. in Early Childhood Education: Administration, Management and Leadership.
Kerry-Ann has been in the field of Early Childhood Education and employed with the Community Program Centers of Long Island, Inc. (CPC) since 2000. She began as an assistant toddler teacher and instantly developed a passion for the field. In her time with CPC she has held positions of Child Care Teacher, Head Start Teacher, Assistant Program Director for Early Discoveries, Home Based Program Manager, and is now the Assistant Director for the Children’s Community Head Start Birth to Five Program. Each of her roles has helped her gain a strong understanding of overall Head Start operations and has shaped her personal philosophy on Early Childhood Education –that children learn and develop through experiences and a trusting and nurturing environment. She also believes that parent engagement in a child’s education is key for educational success. Kerry holds a M.S. in Early Childhood Education: Administration, Management and Leadership.
