Home-Based Programming


Home-Based Programming services are for pregnant women, and children ages birth-5 years. This program supports pregnant women and expectant families as they plan for the arrival of their new baby.


Our goal is to support parents and guardians in being their child’s first teachers and in making their home their first classroom while building strong emotional attachments while maintaining a safe and secure home environment. We offer weekly visits by an early childhood educator help support children and families.


We also offer monthly socialization programs that are available to all families enrolled, to provide parents an opportunity to observe and work with their child in a group setting with the support of their Home Visitor.

Home-Based Curriculum


  • The Home-based program utilizes Partners for a Healthy Baby for prenatal through age 3. This is a nationally recognized, research-based curriculum.


  • Partners For a Healthy Baby contains a wide range of topics that are linked to the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework.


  • Addresses the goals of our program such as prenatal health; positive parenting; enhanced child health and development; infant mental health; economic self-sufficiency.


  • The Home-Based preschool program utilizes the Home Visitors Guide to the Creative Curriculum for implementation during their visits.

Center-Based Programming


Center-Based Programming services supports a loving, safe, and stimulating environments for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Infants and young toddlers’ engage in activities that focus on individual development, encourage exploration, and support strong emotional attachments with teachers.


Older toddlers and preschoolers engage in activities that include dramatic play, sensory exploration, blocks, puzzles, painting, music and movement, and fine and gross motor development; which focus on learning objectives. Children are encouraged to learn at their own pace. We believe that play is the work of children and is integral in developing school readiness skills for continued success.

  • The Children’s Community Head Start Birth to Five center-based program utilizes the Creative Curriculum.


  • The Creative Curriculum is a developmentally appropriate, research-based curriculum that is aligned with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework, the New York State Early Learning Guidelines, and the NYS Pre-K Foundation for the Common Core.


  • UPK classes incorporate the goals and objectives of the district curricula.
